Summer is the best time for cooking outdoors. Consequently, the BBQ is a favourite tool of backyard chefs across the country. To start the season off right and make the most of your grill, follow these two preparation steps for guaranteed BBQ success!
1- Give your BBQ a thorough cleaning
Heat and humidity, combined with time spent in storage, contribute to a dirty BBQ. A thorough cleaning of the inside and outside of the grill will help keep it in good condition for years to come. It will also prevent food from taking on a rancid taste caused by accumulated oil and grease.
2- Check the condition of the propane tank
Never keep a propane tank for more than 10 years and always make sure to check for damage. If your tank is old or damaged, it should be disposed of properly as it is considered hazardous household waste. You can buy a new tank at most big-box stores, hardware stores and gas stations. Of course, there is nothing better than having a second full tank on hand in case something goes wrong!
Now you’re ready to enjoy summer! Get grilling!
